Spiewak Alps ICON Tour
This winter, American heritage brand Spiewak will embark on a four city tour throughout the Italian Alps with an Airstream in tow. True to the core of the brand, The Icon Tour recalls Spiewak’s history outfitting the U.S. national ski team for the 1980 Winter Olympics, and embodies the brand’s slogan “An Icon Endures.” Stopping off at top ski resorts in the area, the Airstream will split its time between the base of the slopes and a key retail partner in each location.
December 18-19 Maximilian Store Brunico, IT
December 25-28 Piz Blanc Store Ortisei, IT
December 29-31 Franz Kraler Store Dobbiaco, IT
January 2-4 Lorenzett Store Madonna di Campiglio
The Airstream itself will be decorated in true Americana military style, complete with a base camp “porch.” Inside, the shop will feature not only iconic styles from the current collection, but the historic items that inspired them along with vintage photographs and stories that have defined the history of the brand. Each morning, the Airstream will set up shop at the base of the slopes before moving to a retail location in the afternoon. In addition to shopping the collection and learning more about the brand, customers can enjoy snacks like hot dogs, burgers and beers, adding an American twist to après-ski. The Icon Tour celebrates Spiewak’s storied history and reflects on the brand’s place among the Olympic athletes who were once selected to represent the United States on a world stage.
In 1904, Isaac Spiewak started manufacturing handmade sheep-skin vests for stevedores on the Brooklyn waterfront. Today, more than a century later, the company that Isaac began in working class Brooklyn endures as an iconic outfitter of utilitarian clothing for today. Trusted by the soldiers of WWI, WWII, police, firefighters and first responders for generations, Spiewak embraces its heritage while also looking forward to the future. Launching a new chapter in its history, the Spiewak icon endures.
